GORIČKO NATURE PARK
OVERVIEW
GORIČKO NATURE PARK
The Goričko Nature Park lies in the northeast of Slovenia, in the Goričko Region, wedged between the borders of Austria and Hungary.
The gently-sloping landscape is abundant with vineyards, orchards, forests, meadows, and fields.
The nature park is part of the tri-state Goričko-Raab-Őrség Park, which connects the Slovenian, the Austrian, and the Hungarian nations and their natural and cultural characteristics.
Because of its location, historical role, design, and also size (the largest in Slovenia), the Grad Castle was chosen as the information and administrative centre of the tri-state park.
The suggested 62-kilometre (39-mile) circular route covers some of the most important sights and attractions in the region, with plenty more still to be discovered either by bicycle or on foot.
